Happy new year to each and every one of you! May the year ahead and every day of it, be full of positive energy and well-being for you and those around you. Yes, the last 2 years were hard, but things change quickly when we change our perspective. If we can look back over the last year as an observer, and take note of all the lessons we learned through the experiences we had, we can start to cultivate gratitude within for the strength we gained through those challenges, and stand in a new position of our own power, knowing that we made it through those times. This means that we have an option or opportunity to approach every situation from a place of inner strength and power, knowing that we can learn and grow from every experience we have. So then, can we decide what experiences we want to create for ourselves? Can we deliberately set goals and know that we can and will achieve them? Absolutely! Because our power is always within us. We just have to act from that positive power and not react to what is outside of our control.

So what are you going to put that positive energy into this year? Can you see yourself smiling as you grow into the best version of you? Start here: Begin and end each day with a smile for at least 90 seconds. It doesn’t even have to be a real, genuine smile at first. Have you heard of “fake it ’til you make it”? If your body thinks you are happy because you are smiling, it will respond accordingly. So smile as often as you can. A gratitude list can be super helpful or simply think of the smiling eyes of your loved ones! Write down everything that you are grateful for: your heart that beats, your kids, your beautiful country, the sun that shines even when it rains…the fact that you can read! If we all smiled a little more, the world will definitely be brighter for ourselves, and also for everyone that we come into contact with. So make this your year to smile!
